
Priyanka and Upendra are making this year's Ganesha Habba extra special at their new residence in Bengaluru. Upendra recalls celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with friends on the streets when he was 6 or 7 years old, and later bringing the celebrations home. He expresses that Lord Ganesha has been a significant part of his life since childhood, making this day very meaningful and auspicious for him. Meanwhile, for Priyanka, Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations began after meeting Upendra. The first time she met his family was during Ganesh Chaturthi at his house. Priyanka looks forward to spending time with the family during the festival, highlighting that the children are getting more involved and are likely to take over in the future. She emphasizes the importance of coming together to celebrate and mentions that since Ganesha habba coincides with Upendra's birthday, it’s a grand celebration for them.
Priyanka also emphasizes the importance of being environmentally conscious during the celebrations, opting for eco-friendly decorations and practices to ensure no harm is done to the environment. She shares that food plays a significant role in their celebrations, with dishes like payasa, ubitttu, and modaka being prepared, all of which are Upendra’s favorites. They try to limit the use of sugar and use jaggery as a healthier alternative, although Priyanka, being Bengali, admits her weakness for sweets.
Passing on traditions to their children is essential for Priyanka and Upendra. They believe that involving the kids in the celebrations brings positive energy and allows the family to spend quality time together.
